Entire revamp of an existing website

NYC Refrigeration is a Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and kitchen repair company serving the New York City area. The company caters to both professional and residential clients.

Project

The company's existing website was outdated, having been designed 10 years ago and no longer reflecting the company's growth. Recognizing this, the CEO contacted me to completely rebuild the website, with the sole requirement of retaining the company's logo, which was used across all support and communication materials.

How I tackled the task

With the freedom to build his website, I conducted research to determine the best way to introduce his company, list all services, define the page structure, collect and refine the content to be concise and emphasize the company's values. The collaboration was great, as the CEO was reliable in providing the necessary information to ensure the messaging was accurate. I then began the design process, defining the sections for each page and aligning the copy accordingly. Finally, I coded the entire website using Drupal 11, the CMS I am most proficient in.

The website was built and optimized for all device screens. I then sent a staging link to the owner, so he could review and list any issues. A few days later, we had a video call to collaborate on the minor changes he requested. Once those edits were complete, he reviewed and approved the publication of all pages.

This final step was the most challenging, as it's difficult to predict if everything will function correctly. After resolving some maintenance-related issues from the hosting company, I was finally able to push the website live and conduct the necessary testing and SEO work.

The goal was to launch the website by December 1st, but it went live and was functioning properly on November 20th.
